Legal Actions Against Defamation and Intellectual Property Usurpation

Después de la reciente retirada de diversos videos de las plataformas Vimeo y YouTube, en los cuales se atribuían descubrimientos que no eran de su autoría, sino del Dr. David Mendoza y de Appleton Private University, este individuo ha continuado con la difusión de calumnias y difamaciones en distintos muros de Facebook.

Ante la gravedad de los hechos y la afectación a la reputación de nuestra institución y la integridad de sus miembros, Appleton Private University ha dado instrucciones al Profesor José Rofes Mendilagaray, abogado del prestigioso despacho Alonso Cuevillas, para que interponga las acciones legales correspondientes.

En este sentido, se presentará una querella criminal por la violación de la propiedad intelectual. Adicionalmente, se interpondrá una segunda querella en nombre del Rector y del Vicerrector de esta universidad, por los delitos de calumnias y difamaciones. Dado que dicho individuo ha proporcionado nombres personales en sus publicaciones, la denuncia se dirigirá específicamente contra D. Jesús Ángel Camacho Moncayo, así como contra cualquier otra persona que pueda difamar a la institución o a sus miembros.

Appleton Private University reitera su compromiso con la verdad, la ética académica y la defensa de la propiedad intelectual. Continuaremos con nuestras labores de investigación y desarrollo, dejando en manos de las autoridades competentes la resolución de este conflicto. The Rectorate of Appleton Private University deeply regrets having to inform its academic community and the general public about the initiation of legal actions due to persistent defamatory conduct and the usurpation of intellectual property by an individual.

Following the recent removal of various videos from the Vimeo and YouTube platforms, in which this individual was presented as the protagonist and discoverer of findings that were not of his authorship, but rather belonged to Dr. David Mendoza and Appleton Private University, this individual has continued to spread calumnies and defamations on various Facebook walls.

Given the seriousness of these acts and the harm to our institution's reputation and the integrity of its members, Appleton Private University has instructed Professor José Rofes Mendilagaray, a lawyer from the prestigious Alonso Cuevillas firm, to initiate the corresponding legal actions.

In this regard, a criminal complaint will be filed for the violation of intellectual property. Additionally, a second complaint will be filed on behalf of the Rector and Vice-Rector of this university, for the crimes of calumny and defamation. Since this individual has provided personal names in his publications, the complaint will be specifically directed against Mr. Jesús Ángel Camacho Moncayo, as well as against any other person who may defame the institution or its members.

Appleton Private University reiterates its commitment to truth, academic ethics, and the defense of intellectual property. We will continue with our research and development work, leaving the resolution of this conflict in the hands of the competent authorities. We will keep our community informed about the progress of these proceedings in the courts.
