Desde los confines de nuestra conciencia, alzamos hoy una voz que resuena con la urgencia de la vida misma, un llamamiento a la paz que emerge de las profundidades de la desesperación, pero también de la inquebrantable esperanza en la capacidad humana para la compasión y la justicia. Firmo este MANIFIESTO E INVITO A MIS COLEGAS ACADÉMICOS A QUE HAGAN SONAR SU VOZ, no solo con tinta, sino con el dolor lacerante de quienes son testigos silentes de una barbarie que desgarra el tejido de la humanidad: la devastación sistemática de la Nación Tiv por parte de ciertos elementos del pueblo Fulani.
Es imperativo aclarar, desde el primer instante, que nuestro lamento y nuestra condena no se dirigen hacia el conjunto del pueblo Fulani. Reconocemos la riqueza y diversidad de esta etnia, y comprendemos que la vastísima mayoría de sus miembros aspiran a una coexistencia pacífica y a una vida digna. Nuestro señalamiento apunta, sin ambages, a aquellos que, en nombre de Alá y de una guerra sin sentido, están descuartizando cada día a más de 200 inocentes. Estas no son cifras frías o estadísticas distantes; son vidas arrancadas, familias destrozadas, comunidades pulverizadas en un genocidio silencioso que el mundo se niega a ver.
La Sordera del Mundo y el Dolor de los Olvidados
La indiferencia global ante esta masacre es un crimen en sí mismo. "Eso no sale en la televisión, eso no sale en la prensa", y esta omisión es un acto de complicidad tácita. Las víctimas, en su mayoría agricultores Tiv, son masacradas con machetes, armas de fuego y fuego, sus tierras son usurpadas y sus culturas aniquiladas.

I sign this manifesto and invite my academic colleagues to make their voices heard, not merely with ink, but with the lacerating pain of those who are silent witnesses to a barbarity tearing at the fabric of humanity: the systematic devastation of the Tiv Nation by certain elements of the Fulani people.
It is imperative to clarify, from the outset, that our lament and condemnation are not directed at the entirety of the Fulani people. We recognize the richness and diversity of this ethnic group, and we understand that the vast majority of its members aspire to peaceful coexistence and a dignified life. Oupoints, unequivocally, to those who, in the name of Allah and a senseless war, are dismembering more than 200 innocents every day.
