Como Rector de Appleton Private University y CEO de Paradox Film, me dirijo a ustedes hoy con el corazón lleno de gratitud y una profunda convicción en el poder del arte. La reciente culminación de la primera edición del Festival Internacional de Cortos Paradox Film ha sido un evento que trascendió las expectativas, y deseo expresar mi más sincera felicitación no solo a los galardonados, sino a cada uno de los concursantes que aportaron su talento y visión a este espacio de creatividad.

La imagen que acompaña a estas palabras captura la esencia de la noche de premiación: un escenario que irradia elegancia y solemnidad, enmarcando los trabajos que fueron reconocidos por su excelencia. Permítanme detallar los cortometrajes que brillaron con luz propia:

• PRIMER PREMIO: "Para remediar el daño: Vigilancia Indígena", dirigido por Fernando Cola, una obra que nos sumerge en la lucha de las comunidades indígenas de la Amazonía peruana contra la devastación causada por la industria petrolera. Su crudeza y su mensaje de esperanza nos recuerdan la importancia de la justicia social y la preservación del medio ambiente.
• SEGUNDO PREMIO: "El amigo de los pobres", dirigido por Javier Fuentes, un emotivo retrato de la vida de Cipriano González, un hombre cuya entrega a los más necesitados transformó la comunidad de Toledo, España. Una historia que nos conmueve y nos inspira a ser mejores seres humanos.
• TERCER PREMIO: "Mi Isla", dirigido por Juan Pattusi, una obra que nos invita a reflexionar sobre la identidad, el arraigo y la conexión con la tierra que nos vio nacer. Una mirada poética y personal que nos habla de la universalidad de la experiencia humana.
• CUARTO PREMIO: "Historia de los Z.G. Amantes Pasajeros", dirigido por David Mendoza, una propuesta innovadora y arriesgada que nos sumerge en un mundo de fantasía y nos desafía a cuestionar los límites de la realidad.

Cada uno de estos cortometrajes, y muchos otros que participaron en el festival, son testimonio del inmenso talento y la sensibilidad que existe en el mundo del cine. Me llenan de optimismo y me reafirman en mi creencia en el potencial del ser humano para crear belleza, generar empatía y promover el cambio social a través del arte.

Y la celebración no termina aquí. Quiero recordarles a todos que todavía tenemos por delante un evento muy importante: la selección de carteles para el festival. En un mes, tendremos la oportunidad de apreciar la creatividad y el talento de los artistas visuales, quienes plasmarán en imágenes la esencia de las obras cinematográficas que nos han conmovido.

Invito a toda la comunidad de Appleton Private University, a los amantes del cine y a todos aquellos que creen en el poder del arte a unirse a nosotros en este camino de descubrimiento y celebración. Juntos, podemos seguir construyendo un mundo más humano, más justo y más bello.
