El Rectorado de Appleton Private University, en nombre de su máximo representante, el Dr. D. José M.M. Castelo-Appleton, se dirige a la comunidad universitaria, a las instituciones educativas y a la opinión pública en general para informar sobre las siguientes acciones legales emprendidas en defensa de la reputación y el buen nombre de nuestra institución.

Ante la persistente campaña de difamación y descrédito orquestada por un individuo que se identifica bajo el nombre de Jay Ferguson, quien de manera fraudulenta y con identidades cambiantes –presentándose en ocasiones como alumno, en otras como periodista o compositor–, está contactando con terceros para difundir información malintencionada y calumniosa sobre Appleton Private University, el Rector Dr. D. José M.M. Castelo-Appleton ha dado instrucciones precisas al Departamento Jurídico de nuestra universidad para que proceda con la máxima contundencia legal.

En este sentido, se ha encomendado al prestigioso despacho de abogados Alonso-Cuevillas la preparación y presentación de una querella criminal por injurias y calumnias contra el citado Jay Ferguson. Appleton Private University no tolerará bajo ninguna circunstancia ataques infundados que buscan dañar su imagen, su integridad académica y la confianza depositada por nuestros estudiantes, profesores y colaboradores.

Queremos dejar claro que Appleton Private University utilizará todos los medios legales y recursos penales a su alcance, no solo a nivel nacional sino también internacional, para perseguir y responsabilizar a Jay Ferguson y a cualquier otra persona o entidad que participe en la difusión de informaciones falsas y difamatorias que atenten contra el honor y la reputación de nuestra institución y de sus miembros.

Apelamos a la responsabilidad y a la ética de la información, y rogamos a cualquier persona que haya sido contactada por este individuo o que posea información relevante sobre sus actividades difamatorias, que se ponga en contacto con nuestro Departamento Jurídico a la mayor brevedad.

Appleton Private University reafirma su compromiso con la excelencia académica, la transparencia y la defensa de su buen nombre ante cualquier intento de manipulación y descrédito.

The Rectorate of Appleton Private University, on behalf of its highest representative, Dr. José M.M. Castelo-Appleton, addresses the university community, educational institutions, and the general public to inform them of the following legal actions undertaken in defense of the reputation and good name of our institution.

In light of the persistent campaign of defamation and discredit orchestrated by an individual identifying himself as Jay Ferguson, who fraudulently and with changing identities – at times presenting himself as a student, at others as a journalist or composer – is contacting third parties to spread malicious and slanderous information about Appleton Private University, the Rector Dr. José M.M. Castelo-Appleton has issued precise instructions to the Legal Department of our university to proceed with the utmost legal force.

In this regard, the prestigious law firm Alonso-Cuevillas has been entrusted with the preparation and filing of a criminal lawsuit for libel and slander against the aforementioned Jay Ferguson. Appleton Private University will not tolerate under any circumstances unfounded attacks that seek to damage its image, its academic integrity, and the trust placed in it by our students, faculty, and collaborators.

We wish to make it clear that Appleton Private University will use all legal means and criminal resources at its disposal, not only nationally but also internationally, to pursue and hold accountable Jay Ferguson and any other person or entity involved in the dissemination of false and defamatory information that attacks the honor and reputation of our institution and its members.

We appeal to the responsibility and ethics of information, and we urge anyone who has been contacted by this individual or who possesses relevant information about his defamatory activities to contact our Legal Department as soon as possible.

Appleton Private University reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, transparency, and the defense of its good name against any attempt at manipulation and discredit.
