El Jurado Desvela los Criterios de Selección

Con la expectación palpable en el ambiente y la emoción a flor de piel ante la inminente revelación de los cortometrajes ganadores, el jurado del certamen ha querido compartir con la comunidad los pilares fundamentales que han guiado su ardua y reflexiva labor de selección.

"Hemos sido profundamente conscientes, en cada visionado, de que cada cortometraje que ha llegado a nuestras manos es mucho más que una pieza audiovisual. Es un fragmento de memoria viva, el resultado tangible del esfuerzo colectivo de creadores, colaboradores y familias, un crisol de sueños e ilusiones proyectadas en la pantalla", declara el jurado en un comunicado previo a la ceremonia de entrega de premios. "Esta conciencia ha hecho que nuestra tarea sea, si cabe, aún más delicada y trascendente".

La presente edición del certamen proponía una temática abierta, invitando a la diversidad de voces y perspectivas. Sin embargo, el jurado ha querido destacar que, si bien la libertad creativa ha sido un valor fundamental, se ha prestado especial atención a aquellos trabajos que han sabido articular un enfoque social y antropológico significativo.

"Hemos buscado aquellas narrativas que trascienden la anécdota individual para iluminar aspectos relevantes de la condición humana, las dinámicas sociales, las problemáticas que nos interpelan como colectivo y las diversas maneras en que construimos nuestra identidad y nuestro mundo", explica el jurado. "Aquellos cortometrajes que han sabido observar con sensibilidad y profundidad las complejidades de nuestra existencia compartida, que han planteado preguntas incómodas o han ofrecido nuevas perspectivas sobre realidades conocidas, han tenido un peso significativo en nuestras deliberaciones".

Asimismo, la originalidad y la creatividad en la narrativa han sido criterios esenciales en el proceso de evaluación. El jurado ha valorado la capacidad de los cineastas para encontrar formas innovadoras de contar sus historias, utilizando el lenguaje cinematográfico de manera sorprendente y efectiva.

"Hemos celebrado aquellos cortometrajes que han arriesgado en su propuesta formal y narrativa, que han sabido encontrar ángulos inéditos y recursos estilísticos propios para transmitir sus mensajes", subraya el comunicado. "La frescura de las ideas, la audacia en la puesta en escena y la capacidad de emocionar y sorprender al espectador han sido elementos clave en nuestra valoración".

El jurado reitera su profundo respeto y admiración por el talento y la dedicación demostrada en cada una de las obras presentadas. "Sabemos que detrás de cada cortometraje hay un universo de trabajo y pasión. Nuestra selección, aunque rigurosa, no pretende disminuir el valor intrínseco de ninguna de las propuestas. Simplemente, hemos buscado aquellos trabajos que, en su conjunto, dialogan de manera más directa con los criterios que hemos considerado prioritarios en esta edición: la mirada hacia lo social y antropológico, y la originalidad en la forma de narrar".

La expectación continúa creciendo. Mañana, a lo largo del día, se desvelarán los nombres de los cortometrajes que el jurado ha considerado merecedores de los galardones de esta edición. Un día para celebrar el poder del cine como herramienta de reflexión, de conexión humana y de expresión artística.

With palpable anticipation in the air and emotions running high ahead of the imminent reveal of the winning short films, the festival jury wanted to share with the community the fundamental pillars that have guided their arduous and thoughtful selection process.

"We have been deeply aware, in each viewing, that every short film that has come into our hands is much more than an audiovisual piece. It is a fragment of living memory, the tangible result of the collective effort of creators, collaborators, and families, a melting pot of dreams and illusions projected onto the screen," the jury stated in a press release prior to the awards ceremony. "This awareness has made our task, if possible, even more delicate and significant."

The current edition of the festival proposed an open theme, inviting a diversity of voices and perspectives. However, the jury wanted to emphasize that, while creative freedom has been a fundamental value, special attention has been paid to those works that have been able to articulate a significant social and anthropological focus.

"We have sought out those narratives that transcend the individual anecdote to illuminate relevant aspects of the human condition, social dynamics, the issues that challenge us as a collective, and the diverse ways in which we construct our identity and our world," the jury explained. "Those short films that have been able to observe with sensitivity and depth the complexities of our shared existence, that have raised uncomfortable questions or offered new perspectives on known realities, have carried significant weight in our deliberations."

Likewise, originality and creativity in the narrative have been essential criteria in the evaluation process. The jury valued the ability of filmmakers to find innovative ways to tell their stories, using cinematic language in a surprising and effective manner.

"We have celebrated those short films that have taken risks in their formal and narrative proposals, that have been able to find unprecedented angles and their own stylistic resources to convey their messages," the statement emphasized. "The freshness of ideas, the audacity in the staging, and the ability to move and surprise the viewer have been key elements in our assessment."

The jury reiterates its deep respect and admiration for the talent and dedication demonstrated in each of the submitted works. "We know that behind each short film there is a universe of work and passion. Our selection, although rigorous, does not intend to diminish the intrinsic value of any of the proposals. We have simply sought out those works that, as a whole, engage more directly with the criteria we have considered priorities in this edition: the focus on the social and anthropological, and the originality in the way of narrating."

Anticipation continues to grow. Tomorrow, throughout the day, the names of the short films that the jury has deemed worthy of the awards of this edition will be revealed. A day to celebrate the power of cinema as a tool for reflection, human connection, and artistic expression.
