Vicent Lluis Cucala Castro brings his three decades of experience in entrepreneurship, project and business development, and finance, in Spain and the UK, to Appleton Private University, where he leads the Department of Economics and Finance.
Growing up as the son of a Spanish entrepreneur, Vicent spent his holidays abroad, learning English and German. He pursued advanced studies in business and economics at the University Rovira y Virgili and the University of Potsdam, working his way up the ranks of the family business in tandem with his studies.
Putting his language and international experience to work, he then joined a UK concern, where he helped to lead technical product supply and management projects across various markets, before joining the Appleton Group.
Passionate about logic-based accessible learning, at Appleton Private University he aims to move away from the traditional way in which economics is taught today – where it is treated as an exact science – towards providing a more comprehensive and relevant understanding of the topic.
With his approach, instead of relying on mathematical models and formulas, he demonstrates the many real-world impacts of economics, and the need to teach it as a multidisciplinary field of study. With this focus, he provides his students with a deep understanding of the topic, and the immediate ability to apply this knowledge across a broad range of situations and decisions.
