Technical Report: Creation of the International Federation of Private Universities (IFPU)

1. Background and Motivation:

The creation of the International Federation of Private Universities (IFPU) arises from the need identified by an initial group of approximately 20 private universities internationally. These institutions expressed their interest in establishing a collaborative platform to:

• Promote academic excellence and innovation in private higher education.
• Facilitate the exchange of best practices and international cooperation.
• Strengthen the voice and representation of private universities in the global arena.
• Create a framework for mutual benefit in the area of education.

2. Constitution Act and Initial Structure:

• The Rector's Council of Appleton Private University, in response to the request of the interested universities, approved through an act the creation of the IFPU as a department dependent on the university.
• The Rector of Appleton Private University was designated as the provisional President of the IFPU, assuming the responsibility of coordinating the initial actions and guiding the consolidation process of the federation.
• The IFPU, initially, is established within the structure of Appleton Private University. In a second step, the independization of the structure is seeked, to legalize the federation as an autonomous legal entity.

3. Development and Digital Platform:

• The development of the domain and the official website of the IFPU has begun, which will serve as a presentation platform for the federation, its objectives, and its members.
• To ensure agile and effective communication, a section dedicated to news and updates of the IFPU has been enabled in Paradoxnews, the news platform of Appleton Private University.
• This initial integration facilitates the dissemination of relevant information while the development of the independent IFPU web platform is being completed.

4. Objectives and Scope:

The main objectives of the IFPU are:

• Establish a global network of private universities committed to quality and innovation in higher education.
• Promote collaboration in areas of common interest, such as research, curriculum development, and student mobility.
• Facilitate the exchange of information and resources between member universities.

• Finalize the development of the official IFPU website and establish efficient communication channels.
• Define the statutes and regulations of the federation.
• Expand the membership of the IFPU, inviting other private universities from around the world to join the initiative.
• Conduct events, and conferences, to enhance the exchange of knowledge between the different member universities.
