The APPLETON PRIVATE UNIVERSITY has published a new STORYBOARD "The Legend of Cornelius," which tells the story of the university's founder, Rector Castelo-Appleton, and the inspiration behind the institution's mascot and mission.
The publication details how the university's founder was inspired by an ancient legend to create a school dedicated to knowledge and understanding. The story, which begins with a wise and just king named Lucian, explains the origin of the university's mascot, Cornelius, a raven that symbolizes wisdom. The raven, an ancient spirit of wisdom, saw King Lucian's desire to build a place of knowledge that would "outlast crowns and castles."
According to the legend, the raven Cornelius gave King Lucian a simple, unadorned ring. King Lucian understood the ring's symbolism: it was a perfect circle, representing that knowledge is infinite and complete. With this new understanding, the king founded the first Great Library of his kingdom, a place where all knowledge was collected and shared.
The legend of King Lucian and Cornelius is the foundation of APPLETON PRIVATE UNIVERSITY. Rector Castelo-Appleton founded the university based on the idea that knowledge is an "infinite circle" and wisdom is its "eternal guardian." The university's mascot, the raven Cornelius, and the bronze statue on campus serve as a constant reminder of this mission.
